The writing sample I have chosen for my blog is my comparison essay. I choose this essay because it was easy and I was able to speak both sides of the arguments. Our directions were quiet simple choose a topic and write about it. The topic I had pick was Online vs Traditional classes.

Traditional vs Online Classes

     Working adults and stay at home parents looking to further their education may use online education as a resourceful tool to extract a better learning environment. In modern day society, online education is designed specifically for working adults and stay at home parents with busy schedules. Some jobs are requiring further studies which is making the job field more competitive.
     Traditional Learning is one of the oldest but most popular way of learning. This allows us to interact with our peers and see the professor face to face. Students who choose the traditional method of education believed that they enjoy the ability to learn with others, allows for class instruction, presentations, peer edits and they love the ability to get to know their instructors. The traditional way always helps students overcome their fear to talk in public.
     Online Learning provides new age technology to help students or adults with their busy lives. With new age technology, it adapts to your schedule. Some jobs might require you to use modern technology to help you do the job like portable devices, computer, Office Word, Excel and many more. With advances in information technology, portable devices, computers  have traditionally been a way of carrying information in a more formal format, with longer battery life than a laptops, computers, and less weight than a bag full of reference books. Virtual classroom settings and message boards offer a variety of learning techniques. A setting usually contains an electronic whiteboard. The instructor presents instruction and interacts with students in real-time It also, allows students to learn without having to commute. For those students who are not able to attend their regular classes and colleges it can easily carry with their higher education through online education mode of study.  
     Online is a quickly growing means of education for all students. It allows students to work and learn at their own pace without the unyielding time restrictions of traditional learning. Online education provides access to learning materials at any time. This allows students the flexibility to schedule their learning around families, jobs and other activities. Technology also provides accessibility and time management. Working while going to school is the potential applicability that studies may have on your job. In other words, it’s one thing to go to class and learn about something in theory, and it’s another to take that theory and put it into practice. Students who work can apply their newly acquired knowledge immediately to their jobs; they can also focus their studies on the kinds of real-world problems that professionals face daily in the workplace. It collaborates both students and teachers just alike from across the globe. No technological invention in the history of man has connected the people of the world like the Internet. While there is still a huge disparity between those who have access to the Internet and those who don't, the mere fact that any of us can communicate across the globe speaks to the importance of this medium. Many times, the web sites we visit in a course are based in another country. What better place to find out about the works of Michelangelo than to go to Italy (virtually, of course)? What better way to learn about the Amazon rain forest or the history of China or the customs of islanders in the South Pacific than to visit those places online? And if you participate in global learning days or other online events, you may even meet and make friends with someone in another country. It is a small world, after all.

     The point is that we live in a world that is going through changes. The ability to learn new information or a new skill whenever you want and wherever you want offers far greater opportunities for education than ever before. This will help you have a brighter and greater future.

Change

      Some major changes that I have experienced is the transition from high school to college. Going through this at the time it was difficult because back in high school teachers were more like friends. Seeing them and they extend their deadline. College on the other hand nope don’t do your homework it is on you. Your responsible for everything you don’t do or do. Going through this change I wasn’t scared I knew it was reality and it was time to grow up. I was just a bit nervous since you start learning what you want to do for the rest of your life.

                After the video, I tend to realize there was nothing to be nervous about. Like in the video it states adapt to the change quickly so you can enjoy your new change. Change happens to the best of us makes us who we are and helps us understand ourselves. The only way is through change. The main goal is to face your fear. Like how in the video Haw made changes and found a bigger and better cheese unlike Haw. Stop letting fear take over and make a change.

Why enroll in college ???

I often ask myself why. Why did you decide to go to college? At first it was a joke to me, but as I got older I had wanted a higher education for myself. Going through high school and seeing how most jobs required a diploma. Being successful and getting a higher education was what I wanted to do. Therefore, enrolling in college was killing two birds with one stone. Seeing my parents struggle to get a job when we first came here I knew they wanted what is best for me.

                In addition, I didn’t want to see myself struggle like my parents due to the lack of their education. Also, enrolling in college will help me achieve my goals. Going to college ready to learn and getting me prepared for my full time job. College will help my skills grow and improve as a person.

Professionalism

Professionalism is a trait of an individual, who is strong and possesses rich experience in the practice of their choice.  This is an important skill set to have because it will help you work more effectively and reach a higher level . A professional is required in all human activity, because everyone one want to get to the top of the ladder.  If I want to be a professional I would have to work on my body language.  Also, projecting my voice when I am talking to my peers or giving a speech in front of the class. Lastly, the one thing that I need to work on the most is how to keep the crowd entertained and not bored or wanting to fall asleep.

                Some people first impression of me maybe that I walk with confidence. Also, most people when walking look at the ground, but I look straight ahead at my destination. Some people may say that I look like I am ready to take on the world. Some may say I look mean, but once you get to know me you know I am a good person. They might think the stuff because the way I look but as they say don’t judge a book by the cover.

About Me

Hi my name is Fiyaad, and my main goal of college is to major in physical therapy. Something to know about me is that I have 3 brothers and no sister. Some of my interest is hanging out with some friends, and I like riding my bike around town, and lastly I think family is one important aspect in my life. My favorite sport is football and my favorite team is the Pittsburgh Steelers or in other words the iron curtain. In other words I do not think the true color shows my self as they say I am more different than what a piece of paper has to say.
